Coca production on the rise
Overall coca production in the Andean region increased for the first time in four years in 2004. That at least is the assessment of the UN's Office on Drugs and Crime, which released its annual report on coca production in the Andean region in June. Coca production increased in both Peru and Bolivia while decreasing slightly in Colombia, the UNODC reported.
